I was forced to download and use this social media app to save my Disney Tsum Tsum game and to add friends in the game. The app itself has had numerous glitches and service problems in the year and a half that I have been using it. At one point it crashed and I had to uninstall and reinstall the app to get it to open again, only to find Id lost all of my chat history. Timeline comments are selectively appearing, some users can see them, but not everyone, which may include the person who wrote the initial post. Now some users believe they are being ignored, when in fact the person simply cant respond because they never saw the comment. The newest update (26 June 2017) no longer receives heart sent message notifications from the Tsum Tsum game, making it impossible to see who is actively sending. This update is concurrent with a game update that integrated Facebook.
While I wasnt thrilled with having two social media apps, I found I prefer several features of the Line app over the offerings of Facebook. I feel my identity is more secure when adding people I havent met in person as my full name, location, employer, or schools are not displayed as public information. My timeline does not contain ads or sponsored content, nor is there any sidebar clutter, filled with content I am generally not interested in seeing. The chat interface is super easy to use, and the simple display allows me to switch between chats and timeline in the same app. (Facebook requires 2 since the creation of Messenger.) Themes and the ability to set a background make for a more personalized experience. Translators can be added as friends and can be used to communicate in multiple languages simultaneously. These great features have kept me using this app, but will be overshadowed by the inability to utilize the functions that were available and are necessary to fully enjoy the Tsum Tsum game experience.
Please restore full communication between the Line app and the Disney Tsum Tsum game. If this does not happen, I may chose to simplify and condense my social media presence in favor of Facebook, which is more established and more reliable. Many of my Line friends have expressed similar sentiments. The Line app has grown on us, but will be made redundant without this feature.
